Stirling Vision and Image Processing Special Interest Group

The Vision and Image Processing group at the University of Stirling is an interdisciplinary research group enjoys strong interaction between four academic divisions including Computing Science & Mathematics, Psychology, Biological & Environment Science and Management. The group consists of 12 academic member staffs and a number of Research fellows/assistants and PhD students. The academics within the groups have a strong funding tracking record from various research councils and industries, including EPSRC and ESRC.

The group is particularly strong in fundamental research in image & signal processing, computer vision, text & language processing and visual perception. The application areas include object recognition, scene understanding, surveillance & security, face recognition, media forensics, activity recognition, medical image processing, hardware development, blockchain and many more.
