The Vision and Image Processing Group at the University of Stirling is an interdisciplinary research group enjoys strong interaction between four academic divisions including Computing Science & Mathematics, Psychology, Biological & Environment Science and Management. The academics within the groups have a strong funding track record from various research councils and industries, including EPSRC, RAEng, EU, ESRC, Leverhulme and Wellcome trust.
The group is particularly strong in fundamental research in image & signal processing, computer vision, text & language processing and visual perception. The application areas include object recognition, scene understanding, surveillance & security, face recognition, media forensics, earth observation, activity recognition, medical image processing, hardware development, blockchain and many more.
